Educational Philosophy
As Christian parents, we have the ultimate authority under God, and
are ultimately accountable for our children's education and discipline.
We take our direction in doing so from the divinely inspired Word of
God. Our commitment is to keep the first commandment - "You shall love
the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your
strength."; to live it - "And these words which i command you today shall
be in your heart."; and to teach it - "You shall teach them diligently to
your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when
you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up."
Deuteronomy 6: 5-7.
At the Crossing Place Academy, we believe that it is our duty and our
ministry to support parents in fulfilling their goals. We must understand
these things:
- Children are precious gifts from God, with individual gifts, strengths, abilities and dreams.
- We must seek to show them that they are uniquely created to fulfill a specific plan and purpose in God's kingdom here on earth.
- Children mature and develop at different rates and each child has different levels of ability and capacity.
- Each child has their own learning style, that when acknowledged and planned for, influences the selection and course of their studies.
- Each child deserves a customized education
- Home-based education has significant advantages for the child, as well as the teacher and the community
